A presidential aspirant was recently taken aback when he went to visit his girlfriend in an upmarket Nairobi estate to find her entertaining another man. The aspirant, who is paying rent for girlfriend's apartment was not mollified by her explanation that the man was just a 'friend' who was making an unexpected and unannounced night visit. The aspirant walked out vowing never to return. However, after a few days, the aspirant has been spotted by neighbors making his regular visits at the apartment.

A group of MPs were furious that Internal Security assistant minister Simeon Lesirma failed to recognize all of them when he was emceeing the funeral service of the four police officers killed in the chopper accident. Lesirma only mentioned a few of the MPs present during the requiem mass which was covered live on television. His omission did not go down well with the MPs who started murmuring among themselves. The situation was saved when Chief Whip Johnstone Muthama stood up and walked over to the VP Kalonzo Musyoka and whispered something before going back to his seat. When the VP stood up to speak, he asked all the MPs present to stand up and wave to the congregation.

A top official of a party was overheard complaing that he has been reduced to a mere rubber-stamp when it comes to making party decisions. The man says while he speaks authoritatively in public on party issues, the real decision makers are a clique of officials from one community who have sidelined him and only require him to endorse the decisions they make!

Several senior policemen in Kisumu have been bragging nothing can be done to them even though there is growing complaints about insecurity in the town and environs. The officers claim they have worked closely with Commissioner of Police Mathew Iteere at the GSU recce squad and CID director Ndegwa Muhoro who was at the police college. They say the two cannot discipline them or even transfer them because of their shared past!
